Daktacort Cream is a combination antifungal and mild corticosteroid medicine containing miconazole nitrate (antifungal) and hydrocortisone (anti-inflammatory). It is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions with fungal or yeast infections, such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, seborrheic dermatitis, and infected eczema. It helps reduce redness, itching, scaling, and swelling while treating the underlying infection.
Dosage (General Use):
Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area twice daily (morning and night).
Treatment usually lasts for 1–2 weeks, but continue as prescribed by a doctor.
Wash and dry the area thoroughly before application.
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and broken skin.
Precautions & Warnings:
For external use only.
Do not use on large areas of skin or under bandages for long periods unless directed by a doctor.
Not recommended for children under 10 years without medical supervision.
Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless prescribed.
Prolonged use of corticosteroids may cause skin thinning.
Possible Side Effects:
Common: mild burning, itching, redness, or dryness at the site of application.
Rare: skin thinning, stretch marks, or changes in skin color with prolonged use.
Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, severe irritation) require immediate medical attention.
