Postinor-2 (Levonorgestrel Tablets)
Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive pill used to help prevent unwanted pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure (such as condom breakage). Each pack contains two tablets of Levonorgestrel (0.75mg each), a synthetic hormone that prevents pregnancy mainly by delaying ovulation, preventing fertilization, or stopping implantation if fertilization has already occurred.
For maximum effectiveness, Postinor-2 should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. The sooner it is taken, the higher its effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.
It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and is not intended as a regular method of contraception. Postinor-2 is recommended only for emergency use and should be taken under the guidance of a healthcare professional if needed repeatedly.
