Forxiga contains Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It works by helping the kidneys remove excess glucose through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Beyond glucose control, Forxiga is also used to treat chronic heart failure (with reduced or preserved ejection fraction) and chronic kidney disease, reducing the risk of hospitalization and disease progression.
